i think the funniest thing would be if republicans passed the schwarzenegger amendment for elon musk hoping to make him trumps successor or something and then he just tanks the party while running as a libertarian and polling 12% of the vote
Ryan Fournier takes the rap and goes to prison when Elon violates campaign finance law and uses donations to pay for child support

Another fun one would be it resulting a surprise Elaine Chao campaign coming to a victory in the primaries and later the general, which also has the rather horrifying side-effect of Senate Majority/Minority Leader First Gentleman Mitch McConnell

this was hillary during the clinton admin i’m sure mcconnell will follow her well

if rexford tugwell had been elected president in 1948 the alaska mental health enabling act would've been an attempt to massively move populations of mentally ill people but it would've been cool and created an entire state around mentally ill sovereignty

Alaskan version of the Mariel boatlift

if jfk had tugwell's brain we could've had a massive cuban-american population resettled in ohio voting for sherrod brown
This is why I’m in favor of allowing millions of American refugees in to the Netherlands when the US inevitably falls to fascism. It would make Amsterdam even more insufferable, but at least we’d have nice centre-left governments for eternity.

yeah dude when america let in a disgusting piggish horde fleeing right wing governance with left wing ideas (germans) they famously stayed on the side of left wing politic forever

That gave me a delightfully vicious idea of Tommy Franks or Stanley McChrystal being an anti-Butler who becomes a right-wing "whistleblower" when it's revealed that Obama/Clinton/insert 2000s liberal here is "planning" to destroy America's ability to fight terrorism abroad or whatever the fuck.
imagining a right wing anti-terror administration that's extremely paranoid claiming there is an alt-business plot of "elites" attempting to take down their alternate war on terror, with franks/mcchrystal being the butler of their time

an interesting way to do this is to have a post-9/11 investigation focus more heavily on saudi funding of the attacks and promote an idea that its international "elites" (no not (((that kind)))) that are a problem, along with a broad war on terror

this is actually what piero scarrufi believes btw maybe he's ambassador to italy ittl [read october 2003 part]

so lets say alan keyes wins in 2000, a worse 9/11 happens, keyes implicates saudi elites as financiers causing a big mess, loses in 2004 because the CIA doesn't pretend that bin laden is still alive and hire an actor to take responsibility for 9/11 to give Republicans a campaign boost no bin laden tape leaks/keyes is fucking weird/keyes anti-french politic fails him even harder than bush and he loses louisiana too

Your fixation on ethnic politics is usually hilarious and sometimes myopic, but occasionally, as here, it’s truly insightful.

whoops.

anyway some boring democrat wins in 2004 (jim hodges is an underrated pick), does nothing, the economy gets nuked, and keyes comes back but this time he feels hella scrappy and as there's a heavy anti-elite political sentiment due to the great recession/alt-post-9/11 shit he gets A Trustworthy Voice to play the butler and it leads to some massive political ramifications, especially since republicans basically dominate the government here

meanwhile we invade iraq, afganistan, sudan, syria, and iran

Presidents of the United States:
2001-2005: Alan Keyes (Republican)
2000 def. (with Frank Keating) Al Gore (Democratic), Ralph Nader (Green)
2005-2009: Jim Hodges (Democratic)
2004 def. (with Patrick Kennedy) Alan Keyes (Republican)
2009-2017: Alan Keyes (Republican)
2008 def. (with Wesley Clark) Jim Hodges (Democratic)
2012 def. [disputed by Congressional Black Caucus] (with Wesley Clark) Barbara Lawton (Democratic), Ron Paul (Freedom)

Americans are built different though.
