Views of the Turkish political parties on the Turkish civil war (as of January 1st, 2017)
What are the parties’ views on the events that transpired on the night of 15-16 July 2016?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The coup of 15 July was a culmination of half a century of Gladio and attempts by the US and its European Christian allies to undermine the revival of a strong, proud, democratic Turkey. Fortunately, the Turkish people have shown their unwavering resilience against the occupiers, and soon enough the giaours will be swept into the sea again.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): Since the creation of the Republic, the CHP has steadfastly defended democracy, and thus opposes direct military rule, and calls for an immediate return to parliamentary politics. As for the 15th of July coup attempt, it is merely the expected result of Erdoğan and the AKP allowing the Gülen movement to take over strategic positions in the military and bureaucracy, under the guise of ‘combatting the deep state’. What they failed to mention is that the CHP was the first victim of the American-backed deep state, and will continue to oppose the Americans’ attempts to infringe our sovereignty, unlike the AKP, who are enthusiastic backers of the pro-American military government directly ruled from Fetullah Gülen’s mansion in Pennsylvania.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): While sons and brothers are killing each other on the streets, the Nazi state in Greece is preparing to invade our Western provinces. That is why we call for all patriotic Kemalist soldiers to point their arms at the coup plotter generals, whether left-wing or right-wing, and sentence them to the appropriate death penalty. After which, we the politicians will establish a national coalition of all nationalist parties and will order you to direct your weapons to the West, to thwart off any invasion by the Greeks, and liberate our lost islands.
United June Party (BHP): The 2016 coup is merely another chapter in the fascist state’s attempts to suppress the workers, farmers, women, and peoples of Turkey. We are the only party that has stood in indomitable opposition to both the Islamist and ultranationalist military regimes. We stand with the people, and the people only. The coup and the ensuing conflict should not be analyzed as a conflict between Islamists and secularists, but rather an attempt by the deep state (whatever its views on political Islam are) to deny leftists and Kurds their continued partaking in government.
What are the parties’ views on the Peace at Home government (YSH government)?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The YSH government is the only legitimate government. The AKP salutes our brave generals that stood in opposition to the 15th of July coup. Any notions that the YSH is controlled by the Americans is simply outrageous. If anything, the US State Department’s recognition of the YSH is further proof that it is the true democratic government of Turkey, as even they can’t deny that the Turkish people support President Akar and PM Şükür’s goal to expel the invaders from our lands, after which we will hold democratic elections again.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): Over the past two decades, the CHP has continuously warned other political actors of working together with the Gülen movement. Today we can proudly say that the CHP is the only party that has continuously opposed the anti-Turkish cleric’s movement, and we believe that our effort was vital in denying them total control over our land. Nobody should draw the wrong conclusions, it was the Gülen movement that orchestrated the 15th of July coup. The tapes are clear as day, PM Erdoğan and Fetullah Gülen had a falling out in 2014, and since then the latter has been planning a coup.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): The MHP invites the YSH to partake in MHP brokered peace talks.
United June Party (BHP): Discussions about which factions fired the first bullet only distract us from the fact that hundreds of Turks and Kurds are killed every single day by the illegitimate military governments. The YSH may claim to be the legitimate democratic government of the people, but they are directly backed by the anti-democratic Americans. The same Americans who invaded Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, etc., and have consistently denied the Kurds of Rojava recognition, despite their fight against authoritarianism across the Levant. To all our conservative citizens, whether Turkish or Kurdish, we call for you to oppose these charlatans, who are merely American dogs.
What are the parties’ views on the National Security Council government (MGK government)?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The MGK are the same evil western-backed groups that opposed the AKP’s efforts towards democratization throughout the last two decades. They are the same mindset that committed the 28th of February coup of 1997, and the same mindset that killed the democratically elected Prime Minister of Turkey. The AKP shall never forget Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s efforts for democracy and religious freedoms, and his slaying by those who opposed freedom for the Turkish people. If there is any confusion about who is the American backed faction, just remember that tens of millions of Americans voted for two men for the Presidency and Vice Presidency who called for military backing of the MGK because of their business interests and furthering of the Great Middle-East Project respectively.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): The CHP is open in its recognition that the MGK is the lesser of two evils. It may be misguided in its rigorousness, but at least it defends the values of the founder of this great Republic of ours, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. That’s why we call for all political parties in Turkey to join us in the MGK’s democratic framework, so we can return legitimacy back to the people’s parliament.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): The MHP invites the MGK to partake in MHP brokered peace talks.
United June Party (BHP): Some Turkish citizens may think that because of their secularism and supposed opposition to American imperialism, the MGK are the faction that deserves the support of the BHP. However, the MGK has continuously proven that they are no friend of the BHP. Instead of restoring democracy, they were more interested in clamping down on hard fought Kurdish language rights. Instead of persecuting Gülenists in the government, they were more interested in mowing down striking factory workers. The BHP stands in opposition towards the YSH’s attempts to usher us back into the Middle-Ages, and the MGK’s attempts to bring us back to the dark days of the 1980’s and 90’s.
What are the parties’ views on the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK)?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The PKK is the biggest terrorist organization in Turkey after the MGK. It is thus no surprise to us that these two groups have been in close cooperation to this day. We call on all our Kurdish fellow believers to rebel against the PKK held territories in our Eastern provinces, and restore our shared values, in defiance of the American imperialists.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): The CHP opposes political violence and terrorism, no matter who commits it. We recognize that the Turkish state has wronged the Kurdish people, and we apologize for this, but we must realize that Turks and Kurds are brothers through fate. A division would be the end of us. Turks and Kurds must once again unite, in equal terms, under the umbrella or the Turkish state.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): The PKK has been the biggest scourge of these lands. Their radical communist, divisionist, and terroristic actions must be stopped immediately. The danger of a Kurdistan, established in our Eastern provinces, is just as big as the danger of a Greater Greece established in our Western provinces.
United June Party (BHP): The PKK has been acting in selfdefense in its struggle against fascist groups backed by the Turkish state. It were the actions of Turkey that made the rebellion of the PKK necessary, and the current presence of PKK-affiliated individuals in the Eastern provinces of Turkey and Kurdistan is similarly necessary for selfdefense against the YSH and MGK.
Dissident opinion: We recognize that the greatest force of terror in the East was the Turkish state, but we mustn’t forget that dozens of teachers and activists were murdered by the PKK. We are closely monitoring reports of ballot stuffing by the PKK in the Hakkari Council, and call for the return of sovereignty over our streets and villages back to the Turkish and Kurdish people.
What are the parties’ views on the Grey Wolves?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): We realize that in such trying times the prospect of vigilantism may seem appealing, but we call for all men interested in joining the Grey Wolves to join the Armed Forces instead. We are also worried about reports from Iğdır of violence committed by Grey Wolves against Imams.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): We decry terrorism, no matter what it’s color or ideology is. For too long, the deep state has allowed the Grey Wolves to commit terroristic acts against Turkish citizens because of their left-wing believes or ethnic backgrounds. We have filed a motion to stop cooperation by the MGK with the Grey Wolfes, and call for all our citizens to sign in on our website.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): There is no such thing as a ‘Grey Wolves organization’. The grey wolf is a symbol that unites all Turks in the world, and groups that are acting with those believes to stop leftist or Kurdish separatism have our unwavering support.
United June Party (BHP): We will never forget the victims of the Grey Wolves, and just like the Red Army 70 years ago, we will make sure that every fascist in this land will soon enough breath their last breath.
What are the parties’ views on the Kurdish Hezbollah?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The Kurdish Hezbollah officially disbanded in the late 90s, and opted to partake in civil politics instead under the umbrella of the Free Cause Party. Reports about Kurdish Hezbollah members killing innocent Kurds in the East are simply PKK-fabricated lies. The Free Cause Party have been enthusiastic allies of the YSH and democracy for all our citizens, no matter their ethnicity.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): The Kurdish Hezbollah is one of the most evil group roaming our country today. Not only do they support dividing our country, but they also kill our soldiers. They have also murdered numerous women, simply for existing. We call for irregular paramilitary groups to allow our military forces to enter the Eastern provinces, so we can stop this scourge.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): We condemn all groups that fight against the Turkish state, and find the accusations that the Turkish state, the MHP or even Turkish nationalists ever supported such a group to be ludicrous.
United June Party (BHP): The Hezbollah do not deserve to put “Kurdish” in their names, as they do in no way support or represent them. For two decades the Hezbollah has, with the backing of the Turkish government, spread terror throughout our lands. Our brave women will make sure that the Hezbollah and its allies will be driven away.
What are the parties’ views on the Islamic State in Turkey (ISIT)?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): False accusations have been spreading across the interent that the YSH is supporting ISIT. These claims are not only incredibly false, but also dangerous, and anyone who spreads them must be prosecuted. We also oppose the continued fixation of Kemalists on ISIT, while they ignore the PKK or its left-wing guerrilla allies. Compared to those nonbelievers, ISIT are merely a bunch of naughty boys.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): The emergence of ISIT shows the desperation of the YSH, as they rely on radical Islamists to do their fighting. We must also reiterate our condemnation of the Erdoğan family for housing injured ISIT terrorists.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): We don’t need the Arabs to tell us how to be good Muslims. All their countries are a mess, and since then they have been fleeing to our country. We have been the only party opposed to mass migration of Arabs from the Middle-East, and have warned that pretty soon they would try to establish their own country. However, they mustn’t forget that the only Masters in Turkey are the Turks.
United June Party (BHP): Just like our allies in Rojava and Iraq have shown us, we shall make sure that our country will be save again for our women and sexual and religious minorities.
What are the parties’ views on the People’s Youth Guerrilla (HGG)?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The so-called HGG is merely just an extension of the PKK in the West. They kill any imam or woman wearing a headscarf on sight, and must be dealt with swiftly.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): The CHP extends critical support to the HGG, though must advise these brave kids to engage in non-violent action whenever possible.
Dissident Opinion: The HGG is a terrorist organization, and must be condemned.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): We call for all Turkish nationalist and Kemalists to shoot on sight when they see an HGG terrorist.
United June Party (BHP): We are proud to call the HGG our allies, and see them as the future of our nations.
What are the parties’ views on the Golden Dawn government in Greece?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): Greece is merely showing the true face of the West and Christian Europe. We warn PM Lagos that if he ever chooses to intervene in Turkey’s internal affairs, the believers shall react accordingly. The mosques are our barracks, the domes our helmets, the minarets our bayonets, and the believers our soldiers.
ٱللَّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ
Republican People’s Party (CHP): Just like Mustafa Kemal Atatürk did 97 years ago, we are ready against any infringements of our lands. Turkey’s lands are definite, and we will not let fascism or imperialism to change that. The Turkish- and Greek people are allies, and we wish to return to such days.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): We call for all factions to stop pointing their weapons against fellow Turks, and point them West towards the Greek Nazi state instead. Ioannis Lagos, Eleni Zaroulia, Ilias Kasidiaris, Eleftherios Synadinos, Georgios Epitidios, and Konstantinos Barbarousis; all of you will not stop the Turkish people!
United June Party (BHP): The events transpiring in Turkey are a cautious tail for Turkey, and the importance of standing in opposition to fascism. We give our full support to the ANTARSYA’s rebellion against the fascist Greek state.
What are the parties’ views on the United States and the Obama administration?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): We recognize Barack Obama as the President of the United States of America, and congratulate him on his re-election.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): Obama’s election in 2012 was received with great enthusiasm across the globe, hoping that it would usher in the end of American imperialistic wars and unabashed capitalism. Instead, President Obama has proven himself unwilling to cease from intervening in the Middle-East, by supporting the YSH, while simultaneously ignoring the Greek governments’ treatment of Muslim refugees from the same countries that the United States invaded under previous administration.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): We call for the removal of all American troops from the land of the Turks, and the United States to allow in 5.000.000 refugees from all the Muslim countries it ravaged.
United June Party (BHP): If Obama is truly committed to freedom and democracy, he should pull back all American troops from the Middle-East, if Obama is truly committed to freedom and democracy, he should recognize Rojava and Kurdistan as sovereign states. If Obama is truly committed to freedom and democracy, he should hand over the administration of the United States to the American workers, rather than the fat cats of Wall Street.
What are the parties’ views on the Middle-Eastern refugee crisis?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The Americans and Brits came in, killed millions of Muslims, and left us to take care of millions of refugees. However, no matter what anyone says it is the duty of every Muslim to take care of a fellow Muslim in need. Now more than ever, as millions of our own have fled to Germany, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, and various other countries, we must remember the importance of looking out for one another.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): Now that the worst of the wars in the Middle-East are over, and our own country is in the middle of an even bigger one. We require all refugees to leave our country for their own homes, where they will be saver. When our country reaches peace again, we will do our best to voluntarily remove all refugees. We must also strongly condemn the AKP government for its irresponsible refugee policy, which has now led to thousands of young foreign men to take arms against Turkish soldiers, whether for the YSH or ISIT.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): The MHP is the only party that has consistently opposed the mass arrival of Arab refugees. Now we are left in a situation where they are killing brave Turkish soldiers. The MHP promises that it will remove every single Arab and Iranian refugee from Turkey, as soon as possible, voluntarily or not.
United June Party (BHP): Damn those who attempt to do politics over innocent people. No person should be a refugee, and no person should be a foreigner. We must create a Turkey where Turkish and Kurdish refugees can return to, and a Turkey where refugees from the Middle-East can live safely.
What are the parties’ views on Recep Tayyip Erdoğan?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The honorable Erdoğan is undoubtedly the greatest Prime Minister in our country’s history, and a martyr for democracy and Islam. We shall make sure that his name will never be forgotten, and every city will have an avenue named after him. They hanged Menderes, they poisoned Özal, they shot Erdoğan, but they will never stop our cause.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): We condemn the assassination of the democratically elected head of government by a military coup.
Dissident opinion: Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was the architect of his own death. His politics of division, hate, and anti-democracy paved the way for the Gülenist to attempt their coup, and bomb his villa in Marmaris.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): Despite our differing opinions with him, we salute him as someone who always did what he believed was right for the Turkish people.
United June Party (BHP): Ding-Dong the Djinn is dead!
What are the parties’ views on President Hulusi Akar (YSH)?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): On the 16th of July, the honorable Hulusi Akar was the only thing standing between democracy and dictatorship, and he chose for the Turkish people. We thank him for his servitude to the Turkish people, and hope he will continue to be our president when we return to a civilian government.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): Hulusi, when you die and go to hell, and our martyrs watch you from the heavens, they’ll watch your burning with great enthusiasm. The people of this country, the soldiers, and their mothers, fathers, wives, siblings, children and friends will not forgive you! Hulusi, you will not be forgiven!
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): We appreciate his years in the Turkish Armed Forces, fighting against terrorism.
United June Party (BHP): Hulusi Akar changed sides so many sides during that faithful night that we’re not even sure if even he is aware which faction he fights for. It is little surprise that Kenan Evren’s waterboy has become a coupist himself 36 years later.
What are the parties’ views on Prime Minister Hakan Şükür (YSH)?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): Prime Minister Hakan Şükür made us proud in the 2002 FIFA World Cups, and he is now making us proud as Prime Minister. The AKP is a party with a lot of talent, and the PM is further proof of that.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): We appreciate what Şükür did for the National Team and Galatasaray, but we condemn him for his support of the coupist pretender government, and condemn the AKP for filling parliament with such anti-democratic American-controlled politician.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): Member of parliament Hakan Şükür should aid in restoring parliamentary power, and re-installing President İhsanoğlu as President.
United June Party (BHP): Throughout his political career Şükür has put Gülen and money above the people, and he continues to do so.
What are the parties’ views on Chair of the National Security Council İlker Başbuğ (MGK)?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): It is little surprise to us that a man who was imprisoned for planning a coup, and only let out on a technicality, is now leading a coupist illegitimate regime.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): As someone who has faced continued Gülenist persecution, and has earned the respect of the entire military, the honorable İlker Başbuğ is a great choice as Chair of the temporary National Security Council government. We thank him for his return out of retirement in these difficult times.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): We appreciate his years in the Turkish Armed Forces, fighting against terrorism and attempts by American-backed non-state actors to alter the course of our nation. Nevertheless, we are concerned about his underestimation of the PKK problem.
United June Party (BHP): The BHP does not recognize the MGK government, and its officeholders, but we do appreciate Başbuğ‘s efforts to increase the rights of Kurds in the Turkish armed forces, despite his allies’ large scale opposition.
What are the parties’ views on Prime Minister Metin Feyzioğlu (MGK)?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): Feyzioğlu is merely another representative of the Ancien régime of the CHP’s one-party dictatorship. Throughout his tenure as President of the Turkish Bars Association he has overstepped his role, and disrespected the PM and President, and as Member of Parliament he has stood with the deep state over the democratic parliament.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): The honorable Feyzioğlu comes from a long and proud tradition of Kemalist politicians, and we appreciate him taking the role of PM in these difficult times, but we wished that as a member of the CHP he would respect the wishes of the party and the people by calling for democratic elections, and gaining the approval of the party before accepting the PM position.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): Member of parliament Metin Feyzioğlu should aid in restoring parliamentary power, and re-installing President İhsanoğlu as President.
United June Party (BHP): The actions of the likes of Feyzioğlu only further proof that the only home for democrats and leftists is the BHP. We must do away with a Turkey where a few families hold all the power, while the rest of the country is forced to fight each other.
What are the parties’ views on Minister of Justice Doğu Perinçek (MGK)?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): Perinçek is the culmination of the alliance of communists and Gladio that seeks to overthrow Islam’s role in the Turkish family, and private ownership of our middle-class. The appointment of a serial prisoner like Perinçek by the MGK is proof that they have zero respect for the laws of our country.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): We call for the immediate resignation of Perinçek due to his known ties with terrorist organizations, and lack of confidence from parliament.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): The honorable Perinçek is a committed nationalist and anti-imperialist.
United June Party (BHP): With one hand he hands you a rose, and with the other he fires a bullet in your chest. Perinçek’s flip-flopping knows no boundaries, and the MGK should stop listening to advice from the Russians on who to appoint to their cabinet.
What are the parties’ views on Fetullah Gülen?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): Fetullah Gülen is a Turkish citizen currently residing in the United States. He is a cleric who is committed to interfaith dialogue, and piece, and who has been the continued subject of persecution by the deep state. Ludicrous allegations that he’s a puppet master secretly controlling the YSH don’t even warrant any response.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): The late Erdoğan opened his arms and the country up for Gülen, and he responded by bombing his villa, and taking over the reins of the government. Fetullah Gülen is a fugitive that should be handed back to the Republic of Turkey by the US.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): The MHP is committed to democracy and the rule of law above all else.
United June Party (BHP): The true face of political Islam. Preaching piousness, while living extravagantly in the US. Preaching peace, while supporting American bombing sprees across the Middle-East. The BHP calls for all Turks and Kurds to continue to oppose Gülen’s coup.
What are the parties’ views on Abdullah Öcalan?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): Once a terrorist, always a terrorist. Öcalan seemed to have turned a leaf when he supported the solution process, but the PKK’s reign of terror in the East has proven otherwise.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): The courts of the Turkish Republic have already sentenced him, and it is up to the government to apply this sentence. We oppose calls for house arrest, though the CHP respects all laws, and is calling for the restoration of Öcalan’s rights as per the ECHR.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): A baby killer, and living proof for the necessity of the reintroduction of the death penalty.
United June Party (BHP): A political prisoner that has been calling for peace between Turks and Kurds for the past two decades. We call for the immediate release of the honorable Öcalan.
Dissident opinion: Öcalan’s sentence should be reduced to house arrest, with the possibility of parole.
What are the parties’ views on Selahettin Demirtaş?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): In previous years, the AKP had trusted Mr. Demirtaş’ promise that he would’ve been a representative of all Turkish people, but unfortunately he has put the PKK above the people, and is now in preventive detention for it.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): Selahettin Demirtaş is a political prisoner, and a member of parliament, who should be released immediately, and be given back his parliamentary immunity.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): The MHP has always warned the Turkish people to not trust one word that comes out of the mouth of Selo. He is a criminal terrorist, and a supporter of the baby killers.
United June Party (BHP): It is not surprising at all that in the midst of the coup, both sides agreed to imprison Selo. In fact, the whole coup was an attempt to stop the BHP’s rising poll numbers, and the impending certainty of Prime Minister Selahettin Demirtaş.
What are the parties’ views on the Strauss-Kahn plan?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The Strauss-Kahn plan is merely another attempt by Christian Europe to strip the Muslim people of their sovereignty, and make it a colony of the West.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): We appreciate the attempts of President Strauss-Kahn, and our long friendship with France, but we would prefer foreign countries not to intervene in domestic affairs.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): France should first solve its own racism problems, and release innocent Turks, who’s only crime was loving their motherland, before daring to intervene in the affairs of the Turks.
United June Party (BHP): The Turks and Kurds will not be subjected to the plans of European big capital. Strauss-Kahn should return with a plan that includes the Turkish and Kurdish workers.
What are the parties’ views on the AKP?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The AK Party is a conservative democratic party that believes in a social, moral and democratic Turkey. The AK Party is the true defender of Turkish democracy, and had stood in steadfast opposition to the deep state, the West, and the coupists. Under our governments, 80 million Turks have seen their standard of living improve.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): The AKP is a legitimate political party that went from a party with questionable amounts of respect for democracy and the rule of law to becoming the civilian wing of the YSH. The AKP dug its own grave in this regard.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): The AKP is a political party, which has become synonymous with political corruption, and has opened the government up for various foreign actors. The MHP had at times taken the responsibility by governing with the AKP, but they have only proven loyal to their Western backers.
United June Party (BHP): The AKP is the party that truly opened the country for American neoliberalism. Just like neoliberalism, their promises of democratization and freedom proved to be hollow, as millions of people were forced out of their homes, and the ‘opening’ towards the Kurds was stopped, as soon as they tried to make their voices heard.
What are the parties’ views on the CHP?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): Ever since the death of the honorable Atatürk, the CHP has put party over democracy, and supported every single coup in this nation’s long and proud history. They have oppressed millions of women by denying them the right to wear the hijab, in the hopes that it would impress their Western masters.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): As the heirs to Mustafa Kemal’s revolution, the CHP has the most important and precious role of any political parties. We will be the first to recognize that we have not always fulfilled this role as well as we should have, and we will continue to apologize to anyone that was disenfranchised as a result of the CHP, whether they be conservatives, Kurds, or Alevis, we will do our best to give you an equal role in civil- and political society. Today, a new challenge awaits our republic, as we are in the midst of a civil war between two military factions. It is now the duty of all political parties, as representatives of the Turkish people, to unite, and put democracy above anything else. As we edge closer to our great Republic’s 100th birthday, we cannot enter it as a military dictatorship, whether secularist or religious.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): We call on the CHP to return to its nationalist Kemalist roots, and stop its experimentations with leftism, and flirtations with divisionist Kurdish actors. We also call for the CHP to join the MHP and its allies in forming a nationalist bloc that will defend all 81 provinces of the Turkish Republic, and broker peace in the military.
United June Party (BHP): The CHP-BHP governments have proven to be some of the most consequential in the Republic’s history, and have ushered in great improvements of the rights of women, workers and ethnic and sexual minorities in this country. Nevertheless, we are worried about the CHP’s willingness to support the MGK. If the CHP is truly as committed to democracy as we believe they are, they should recognize that neither of the two factions are worth aligning with, and a new Republic must be formed to represent the peoples of Turkey.
What are the parties’ views on the MHP?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The MHP is a fellow conservative party committed to family values, and a strong independent Turkey. We invite the MHP to join us in the YSH.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): The CHP and MHP have a long and tumultuous friendship that has as often brought as in opposition to one another, as alongside each other, but neither of us can doubt the others commitment to Atatürk and the Turkish nation. We thus call for the MHP to join us in defending democracy for all Turks, and establish a strong democratic and nationalistic bloc.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): The MHP is the true representative of Turkish nationalists and all Turks from Belgium to Kazakhstan. In our more than 50 year history, we have stood in opposition to Soviet agitators, and both Western and Eastern imperialism. Only through the MHP and our nationalist spirit will we be able to restore unity again in our nation, and establish the Misak-ı Mîllî.
United June Party (BHP): The MHP is a Made-in-America fascist party that is in the midst of overplaying its hand. With both the YSH and MGK promising it the world, the MHP is instead attempting to play them against one another to further their, and their criminal buddies’, goals. In this sense the MHP’s fascism is the perfect representation of capitalism, as they call for peace on one end, while selling both sides weapons, and filling their pockets, on the other side.
What are the parties’ views on the BHP?
Justice and Development Party (AKP): The BHP is the political wing of the PKK, masquerading as a political party. Only the AKP will further the rights and livelihoods of the Kurdish people. The BHP is only interested in rights for homosexuals and communists.
Republican People’s Party (CHP): The current CHP leadership has fought long and hard to come to a point where we could form a government with the BHP, and we hope they returned the favor. We are worried that since the start of the civil war the BHP is increasingly falling under the influence of the PKK. We are calling for the BHP to resist the attempts by terrorist organizations to influence it, and join us in our democratic struggle. Only through a united left can we solve our nation’s generational traumas. There is no liberation on our own. Either we all achieve freedom, or none of us will.
Nationalist Movement Party (MHP): The BHP is synonymous with the PKK, and should be treated as such. Anyone who aligns with them, shall be treated accordingly.
United June Party (BHP): Our party wasn’t found in New York City skyscrapers, nor in bourgeois parties, nor in military barracks. Our party was founded in the streets of Istanbul, Ankara, Diyarbakir, and every other city and town in this nation of ours. Our party was found through our shared struggle against imperialism and its enforcers, against prejudice and racism and its enforcers. When we dodged the rubber bullets of the police, we didn’t judge the ethnicity, sexuality, or religion of the person fighting next to us. Our party is the only representative of our peoples’, and our struggle against imperialism and capitalism.
