Here I'm assuming a TUC that trends even more to being an organ of the Labour Right than OTL, culminating in the disgraceful tenure of Sid Greene. His crimes eventually come out in the press, and in response they elect as their next leader the fearless union journalist, scourge of the right, don't ask what he thinks about Stalin, Seamus Milne. Or similar.

I could see Neil Greatex being investigated for fraud in 92 (for doing what he did in Otl in 2011) leading to things spiralling from there as Greene is investigated too leading to TUC doing damage control by going with Milne as a way to help remove there stench.

It's a bit boring if you don't have someone switching careers from otl. Considered Johnny Marr or Gordon Ramsey given both had football trials. But Ian Botham played for Scunthorpe, I don't think it's entirely unreasonable for him to get into football over cricket and end up a Keegan style motivator of a coach

Ah, I thought you were going for a move from a successful sporting career in a another discipline into footbal like Clive Woodward going to Southampton.
