Do you know what day it is today, children? That's right, it's Liberation Day--the anniversary of the glorious day when the Scouts led by Clarence Chugwater, The Boy of Destiny, drove out the cruel Anti-British Coalition who tried to lay old Blighty low. They brought light to Britain's darkest hour with their courage, grit, and above all their supreme devotion to King and Country.
It should never have come to where it did. In the early years of this century Britain was divided and doddering, clinging to the outdated doctrine of Free Trade that was smothering our industries, with wool-headed non-conformists trying to tear down the Church of this nation and milk-blooded pacifists insisting that we cripple our armies as a gesture of friendship. Of course, we all know now that this was the worst mistake any nation could make. The idea of an international brotherhood and permanent peace between nations is a foolish fiction. The world is in a constant state of war and struggle, and any peace between two countries hangs by a fine thread that can be broken by any slight or perceived gain. True peace can only be achieved by constant preparedness for war--or utter domination. And while Britain had dominion in the world in those years, it was decaying, and plans were made against us.
Germany and Russia had long been jealous of our colonial place in the sun, and sought to draw in others who might wish to destroy us. The Swiss, with their shining new merchant marine in the Geneva-Rhône canal, wished to flex their muscles and prove that they deserved to stand as a great power. So to did the Montagnards, with their hordes of foreign mercenaries under their employ spoiling for work and looking for plunder. The ancient heathen empires of China and the Turk sought to entrap Britain in their inscrutable stratagems and reclaim their faded glories. And a whole host of colonial rabble-rousers--from Madhists to Moroccan banditti to the savages of Bollygolla--wanted British rule to end so that they could return to their primitive ignorance untroubled by civilisation. All these forces worked in concert to assault Britain; the idea that their simultaneous invasions were a mass coincidence is patently ridiculous and treasonous. All envied Britain, and all wished her doomed.
Once freedom had been regained for the Home Isles by pitting the Huns and Mongols against each other, the new government had much to accomplish. While the British people had gifted them a sweeping majority in favour of regaining glory, a mass military buildup needed to be achieved before Good Old-Fashioned English Steel could drive the Madhists and Mandarins and other colonial brutes from our rightful holdings, and take back our other colonies from the cold hands of our foes. The new Royal Ordnance factories pumped out the guns needed, and the national mandatory training system ensured that the populace were all fighting fit and fit to fight. The doctrine of the All-Nation Army proved itself well in the Liberation, and as I speak to you today, I have every confidence that you will also fight with as much steel and pluck as those then. In our proud Empire, every man, woman, and child can take up arms if needs be, and fight for King and Country, in factories and on battlefields.
Of course, any army is only as good as those who lead it. Like any army, the British nation needed as leaders those men with fighting experience, tactical minds, and eugenical breeding--the destiny of the British people cannot be in the hands of the common rabble. Twelve years ago this lesson was proved well. At one of Britain's most critical junctures--with Ireland embroiled in a German-funded Fenian uprising and the War For India reaching a fever pitch, foolish and weak-willed Britons decided to sweep away those who had led them so well. With a ramshackle coalition of radical Marxians, mouth-frothing anarchists, and yellow-bellied traitors holding the reigns of power, the fate of the nation was at stake. Once again, decisive action came from the mightiest fighting force in Britain, the envy of the world, the secret army where every soldier is as cunning as a general and tough as a Marine--the Boy Scouts! Stand tall with pride, children, and know that it was your predecessors who saved Britain from Hunnic Slavery and Red Treason both. You are the heirs to Britain's greatest tradition.
Now, on this anniversary, we must look both to the past and the future. Our troops teem in their hundreds of thousands, well-trained and well-armed. The new Navy commands the seas with massive firepower and tough Jack Tars, and our Air Force swarms in its vast numbers--indeed, this whole island is as an airstrip for the brave new Knights of the Sky. United in one great brotherhood by the ideals of National Hygiene, National Preparedness, and National Independence, the world stands at your feet. You may soon, children, take part in the greatest battle mankind will ever know, a battle that will purify mankind as the furnace purifies metal. The Hunnish and Mongolic empires, girded with both savage hordes of men and brutal machinery, dominate the Eurasian continent, and are allied with the innumerable masses of East Asia. But like all foes, they will surely fall under the guns of British soldiers! How can we fail, when at the head of our troops is the master-tactician, the supreme warrior of the Anglo-Saxon people, the latter-day Alexander, the great liberator? Hail, Chugwater! Hail, the Boy of Destiny!
