It horrifies me that the Metaverse was apparently popular enough that its collapse caused an entire great depression
It's kind of based on Comrade Izaac's idea of Metaverse going bankrupt kicking off a recession, but just assume that the Suarez admin. did something bad with crypto too.

Besides, with Twitter dead, Mastodon and Co. all cannibalizing each other, TikTok shut down in the Western Hemisphere and Discord remaining ... not Twitter, Meta is the largest social media company by default.

or should i just retcon it to something like Shanghai terror attack blows the economy of the BRIC+ pact to pieces

a big part of my thing was that Meta going under essentially exposed a huge amount of the underlying financial fraud that exists at the heights of American capital that they couldn't keep steady through a combination of taxpayer funding and dark money anymore, which is the thing that causes the crash more than anything.

okay that sounds a lot more sensible

I wonder how many congresscritters had to leave Congress after that one, and I wonder if Matt Taibbi played any role in that

Considering Taibbi was the one trying to push the Hunter Biden "scandal" he was probably defending the financial fraud

Gotta say, the Wayne Saga you got going on here is my favourite shit ever lol.

Definitely accurately captures where our political trajectory is going
Thanks so much! Appreciate the appreciation.
