Anyway, so the protests at the convention drive him nuts, people saying ‘no more war’, joining up with Bayh and McCarthey and telling Yorty he can’t be sending any more troops to Malay or China anymore. So he flips, McCarthey and Bayh get wire tapped, Yorty uses giant Union connections and CPUSA connections to rat out the prominent New Lefties and then he came after Humphrey...poor fucking Humphrey.
Yeah, things went to shit very quickly. God I don’t get how RFK managed to do it, deflect all the Yorty shit away from him. God, he made us into 1984 and laughed to the fucking bank”.
