  • Thank you to everyone who reached out with concern about the upcoming UK legislation which requires online communities to be compliant regarding illegal content. As a result of hard work and research by members of this community (chiefly iainbhx) and other members of communities UK-wide, the decision has been taken that the Sea Lion Press Forum will continue to operate. For more information, please see this thread.

This forum will continue to operate

Glad to hear it and much appreciation for all the hard work deciphering the regs that I'm sure this must have entailed.

86 pages of "simple" guidance and one of the most dreary workflow's I've used in a while. I've dealt with worse*, but I did love the 5 page clarification update from OfCom the other week that boiled down to no real clarification at all except for "we'll be proportionate and we've got bigger fish to fry". It's like GDPR and Data Registrars, it is probably never gonna be used on a small hobby** site, but it's best to have the paperwork ready in place.

* Yes, you Belgium and that bloody e-fff mutant of UBL 2.1.
** Unless you hobbies include one of the 17 online harm categories

Just want to say a big thank you to @Meadow, @iainbhx and the whole mod team, I know this was stressful and frustrating and took a lot of work to get here and I’m really glad we’re able to keep going.
I can only echo @Callan with my sentiments here, but thank you to everyone for ensuring we're still around for a long time to come. You guys have been a lifeline for me and many others, so my appreciation goes far beyond what words can express.
