A very elegant punchline indeed! Rather explains the slightly cavalier phrasing used by the officers, especially Schilling.

It's imaginative to do a 'what if the 1972 wargame in a Nazi stalemate world' story, especially finding the ways in which the Germans do have slightly more of an edge than 1940, but the Channel will always be insurmountable.
