Monarchs of the United States (House of Trump)
Donald I of the United States (2016-2024)
The final collapse of the House of Lincoln came when Tiffany I of the United States died without children, and a political conflict broke out between Democrat and Whig over which of the dead queen's cousins should inherit the throne. The Whigs won the 2016 election under Cruz and rammed Baron Trump, a populist business mogul, through.
Donald the First proved to be horrifically ill-prepared: petulant, a sneak, corrupt, and bigoted, and arguably senile. He publicly slagged off his Prime Minister and various American allies, he was caught in numerous tax scandals - but the nadir came when he undermined the country's already weak response to covid-19. So, a palace coup was carried out and while officially he remained king for the remaining four years of his life, it was clear to everyone that his daughter Ivanka was truly in charge.
Ivanka I of the United States (2020 - 2028)
With her husband, Prince-Consort Jared, and an army of PR creatures, Ivanka had spun herself into being 'the good princess' and used a merciless iron grip on her father to keep him controlled. When he finally died, she bulled her way into power with the support of both political parties even though she wasn't next in line - and her father's will allegedly confirmed this. Cough cough.
She remained as corrupt as her father but was better able to conceal it, not causing any day-to-day political disruption while filling her pockets. But her disgruntled brother Prince Donald would not give up on his lost throne, waging a constant legal and media battle for four years that steadily damaged her reputation and caused a rupture in the Whigs between "Loyalists" and "Moderates". When the Whigs retook Congress, Ivanka was out - with a lot of the silver.
Donald II of the United States (2028 - 2036)
"Donald the Younger" was every bit his father's son but somehow dumber. His reign caused the Whigs to shatter, with the "Moderates" decanting to form a new party - the Conservatives - and this let the Democrats back in, who swiftly sidelined the monarchy on the world stage to prevent embarrassment. This was, however, too late to prevent republicanism having a surge in the country
In a whinge fit, Donald II abdicated rather than be king under "these conditions" - causing a four year legal crisis over where the throne was meant to go, to his own children or back to Ivanka.
Eric IV of the United States (2036 - 2044)
Prince Eric of the House of Trump was meant to be a brief regent figure but after four years of the Second Regency, the Supreme Court just up and declared him the King already. Eric was, once again, a very stupid and venal man, but unlike his brother he was willing to stay quiet about being sidelined and enjoy all the trappings. Republicanism struggled to make headroom.
Then Eric enjoyed the trappings too much and ended up dead.
Tiffany II of the United States (2044 - 2052)
Eric's children rejected taking the throne, and it passed on to Donald I's "princess over the road", Tiffany. She hadn't expected or wanted the throne, but did it out of a sense of duty until her death. While the least offensive of the House of Trump, it was under her that the Republican Party - having linked its initial cause to the climate crisis and other progressive issues - finally came to power. They argued that the best you can hope for being an inoffensive monarch after four crap-ups showed the institution was not fit for purpose. Tiffany duly abdicated. The United States was now a republic.
The Republicans probably did not expect the first president after them would be Barron Trump, running for the Whigs.
