I was considering using a Paul/Sanders as an anti-war ticket in a mid-2010s Sino-American War.

Have them cause a deadlock in the EC, Democrats and Republicans bargain with each other to keep the war going, increasing opposition causes a February Revolution with Congressman Paul becoming Speaker and POTUS at gunpoint, Peace coalition collapses in a short time, and we get a paleoconservative dictatorship led by Paul’s Nazi supporters.
