What if Robert B. Randolph had killed Andrew Jackson?

An interesting one.

The matter of the Bank is not touched upon, though it might not seem worthy of mention in a TL where van Buren doesn't go to war over it and things keep keeping on.

With Jackson, there are so many duels and other near-misses that it could also turn into a timeline where he dies before becoming president. For example, what if he and "Manifest Destiny" Benton killed each other (that one would butterfly New Orleans as well).

As long as he doesn't die in his first term, because save us from President Calhoun.

Small, but interesting mention there that the Mount Rushmore equivalent is Whitestone Mountain which, if it's the same one, is in North Carolina.

There's a few conflicting things there, like Jackson dying in what seems to be a fistfight but getting the Lincoln/JFK martyred hero treatment. Van Buren struggling from the outset against the other branches of government and the Whigs but being re-elected in 1836 and 1840.

Some interesting ideas, but feel there's a lot of the why I'm missing.
