The Business of Ruling: Keit Tsahkna
  • 782px-Bernadette_Cattan%C3%A9o_en_1929_%C3%A0_Moscou.jpg

    Bernadette Cattanéo
    Name: Keit Tsahkna
    Age: 29
    Gender: Female
    Ethnicity: Estonian
    Religion: Atheist
    Faction: Anarchist
List of Occupations and Offices Held: Involved in the anarchist organisations, also a mechanic specialising in motorbikes.
Personality: One can't say that Keit Tsahkna cares much for what most people thinks of her. She has always been in a way defiant of society, and sees the revolution as liberating. She does however, care quite a lot about what people who she cares about think of her. She is, below all the "fuck society, fuck it all" talk a fairly caring person. She's not an anarchist for the "fuck rules", she's an anarchist for the whole "everyone helps everyone else" bit.
Other Pertinent Information: Is somehow the partner of the three Chayka sisters after quite a few misunderstandings.
Biography: The most precious thing anyone can have is their freedom. Why should it be relinquished? This is what Keit Tsahkna asks herself and others. Just exactly why do people do it? She's not some philosopher who writes extensively of what an anarchist society is about (she finds those people bores), she's just someone who goes "why do we need all those rules?". A noted lesbian, she has found that fellow anarchist women are broadly the most likely to be lesbians, but then she somehow picked up a very mood-swingy Trudovik of all things a few months ago. After a misunderstanding, it was cleared up that she somehow got into a relationship with three sisters without realising it [and she did have a talk with them about, well, clear communication!]. Nevertheless, she's fine being poly, and makes sure to afford each of them equal love and attention.

She is now currently dealing with the emotional impact of the death of Anton Chayka on his daughters. Truth be told, she thought him a bit of a suspect revisionist, but currently won't hear a word against someone killed by the Whites [and who his daughters won't hear a word against].

    Skills:
Charisma - 3 [Keit Tsahkna can make quite a decent speech, but not as good as Markova]
Organizing - 4 [Anarchism is not one without organisation, it is one without the state. Tsahkna knows this very well]
Generalship - 1 [She has a pistol in her leather jacket ready in case, but that is all she knows of military matters]
Subterfuge - 2 [Our mechanic can be sneaky sometimes, but it is not a skill she particularly knows well]

    The Civil War -
    1, Revolution Now
: While opposing the White Reaction is paramount, the Petrograd Soviet's policy thus far has been moderate. Too moderate. For all the talk about land reform and power to the Soviets they have no interest in promoting true socialism. Let's shoot kulaks!

    National Self-Determination -
    1, Freedom to the Peoples:
All of the people of the former Russian Empire have a right to be free and independent - as long as they're socialist and don't interfere with our present foreign policy goals. It's okay we can forcibly teach them about our particular branch of socialism later.

    Land Reform -
    1, Land Socialization
: Make everyone set up communal farms and they can run it and all that fun stuff. Land back to the people and all that. What do you mean you can't democratically force everyone onto collectivized farms? Just shut up, we've been trying to do this for like 4 decades at this point. Just let us Nardoniks win once.

The War & The Peace -
    N/A

    Republic vs. Monarchy -
    1, Soviet Republic
: The Soviets that have sprung up following the February Revolution will be the method of government! This is either to be an 'informal government of association,' a federation of 'free soviets,' or something else entirely. You're either very serious about this or intend to control the Soviets 'for the sake of the revolution' later on a la Comrade Lenin.

Tomorrow We Live: Cosmo Jeffrey New
  • Ministeri_Kalevi_Sorsa_%28cropped%29.jpg

    Kalevi Sorsa
    Name: Cosmo Michael Alistair Jeffrey
    Age:
    37 (22 April 1916)
    Gender: Male.
Birthplace: Sussex, England, U.K., British Empire
    Region: Great Britain
Political Affiliation: Centre Bloc - Mosleyites
    Career Summary:

    - Involved in the Labour Party as a teenager [with dabbling in the C.P.G.B. as well]
    - Fought in the Second World War, and returned home deeply traumatised, cursing the name of Churchill, even as he fully believes he fought on the right side.
    - Some say he briefly joined the Communists, before his politics grew too authoritarian and he ended up somehow being roped into Mosley's lot when it rapidly grew.
    - Seen by some as 'more Mosleyite than Mosley', very much an ideologue in the purest sense.
Personality: A quiet, brooding man who holds much within his brain, he's not often the easiest person to get to know, but give him a pint or two, his inner cogs are greased and he's a very happy drunk and often very sociable. Mostly very calm, but has a hair-trigger temper against people he labels 'Hitlerites'.
Biography: Cosmo Jeffrey was born in inauspicious circumstances - being the suspiciously-late seventh son of a seventh son ("Yes yes, laugh away"), born nine months after his father went to war. His mother always insisted that he was his father's son, but his father was never quite sure. "Cosmo has blond hair, unlike the rest of my sons...", and this led him to have a somewhat cold relationship with his father. Perhaps this is why he joined Labour, as his father was a Tory and he saw little appeal in Toryism.

Some say that he took part in the Battle of Cable Street... on the 'wrong' side [i.e. the left]. He merely scowls at those people. His time in the war changed him, made him invest far more importance in unity, discipline, and order. After voting Labour in 1945, he proved deeply disappointed by the chaos that followed, which only made him yearn for the wartime years, when everyone knew their place. Surely, we can burn through all the old rotten ways and embrace a different future?

After a rumoured stint as a Communist, he joined the Mosleyites early on in their meteoric rise and embraced the coming European fascist state. One that will bring around the world of tomorrow. From his Liberal mother, he learnt of the promises made in 1918 and 1929, and he knows of the failed promise of 1945 from Labour. Britain have had enough of mirages, it must be given the future it has been promised, one of a reality transformed beyond utter comprehension.

    The Federal Question:
Pan-Nationalist - Oh that's...an interesting idea. As a Europa Pan-Nationalist you totally buy into Mosley's dream of Europe a Nation, like an actual nation. Bound by a single, "European" identity (whiteness), Lamarckian Evolution and with all national borders being dissolved, replaced with a single, central, unitary government in Brussels. Good luck...
Centralist - A fairly acceptable position, one we expect most of you to have. 'Centralism' is vague here and fairly all-encompassing but this generally means you want to see the constituent states hollowed out as much as possible (while still existing in some form) with as much power invested at the top of pyramid. Dare I say, Direct Rule from Brussels?

"We must seek to move beyond the old ways, and part of that is embracing the idea of Europe. Not just it as a continent. It as a concept."

    Salute the Leader:
Congressionalist - On the other side of the coin is a push for "Congressionalism" - the empowering of the European Congress in law making and overall leadership. You might ask why anyone would support this but you'll soon realise that only a handful of you are going to be actually in Place des Palais and then it makes a lot more sense. Some might actually believe in this cause but most of you are going to be half-hearted careerists looking to make sure your current position is the strongest.
"The best way for an organic state that unites us all is to look beyond mere dictatorship like Stalin, and look into the system as a whole. Parliamentarianism worked quite well enough for Britain until the Americans stepped in. It should be the foundation of the new Europe."

    The Corporate State:
A Little Change - The safe option. With a little wriggle room you call for modest reforms and minor rethinks, you can use this to stich on some random pet project or other personal idea onto the grander machine without rocking the boat too much or having to actually devise the rest of an economic policy. Feel free to tell us what you want to change.
A Lot of Change - Daring today, are we? Well to be fair, the floor is open and we could do with some new ideas. If you want to put together a comprehensive replacement to the Thomsonite policy - that's more than just your pet issues - but still maintain corporatism in this fascistic form, this is for you. Feel free to give us a draft of ideas.

"A corporatist state must always be flexible and willing to put to death its darlings. While I don't think we need to at present, we must be willing to if necessary."

    The Today of Tomorrow:
Futurist - You are either very old or very young, what connects you? Your devotion to the creed of Futurism, one of the original bedrocks of Fascism that got lost along the way. You believe in fast cars, high-flying planes, war and violence, surrealistic geometric art and a load of other cool shit. You are obsessed with the concept of THE MACHINE whatever that actually is. Fortunately, unlike some of your old counterparts, you're surprisingly open to more progress causes. Anything to advance the progression of THE MACHINE and its glorious new regime.
"The future must be something we strive towards, for this continent that has seen it denied so many times in the past."

    High VOLTage:

A Former Cadre - You love VOLT, I mean really love it, it's a bit scary. As far as you're concerned VOLT is the best thing ever and all children should undergo mandatory enlistment and all other youth groups should be banned! Cult vibes aside, you were a member of VOLT and you loved it so much this has instilled you with a fiendish devotion to the group, to the point any and all threats to VOLT must be destroyed. You scare your colleagues with how devoted you are, some don't talk to you. Fortunately you remain privy to the group's inner machinations but is it worth the social death? Actually maybe it is to you...
Supportive - Would you be a good Fascist if you didn't place excessive emphasis on the "Yoof", of course you wouldn't be. So while you aren't fanatically devoted to VOLT as its former members are, you do feel its a "force for good" in a sense. It keeps the young busy and out of trouble while turning them into good loyal soldiers for the future oil wars. Did I say oil wars? Don't worry about them. Just focus on your new "friends" in VOLT and getting as many young people in it as possible.
"VOLT is a fine organisation and is the future of Europe. We must seek to ensure it becomes truly 'European'." [He low-key has the intensity of a cadre, but was never one]

    Shhhh:

Directory Model - When you hear the words "red tape" you get excited with glee. Your "compromise" solution is to institute some "checks and balances" wherein no central individual controls EuroPol but instead a Directory of various delegates. The decentralisation of power from one faceless bureaucrat to a handful of them is balance, right? How these delegates are selected is up to you but most supporters of this agree they should be representatives of the constituent states. Assuming they exist of course.
Dualism - You know those other guys who love the idea of a "European FBI", well they forgot that in parallel exist the State Bureaus of Investigation. You on the other hand, being knowledgeable of such useless American-themed trivia want to really copy America. EuroPol will exist at a national level and then each of the constituent states will have their own regional secret polices. Don't expect any of these agencies to get along with each other but it might placate the states enough to back down on the really important stuff.
    "Whatever works."

    EuroAfrica:
    Developmentalist -
Nominally the "goodest" plan, you want to be "nice" to the natives and help "build up" their economies. No, no, no debt traps here. Of course we all know you really see this as a bribe to the black population to stay away, don't even try and pretend otherwise. Or maybe this is just your attempt at neo-colonialism, in which case very original.
"The transformation of Africa would be the greatest triumph of European civilisation."

    East v West:
Anti-Atlanticism - Now we're getting interesting. Curiously, you feel America is the greater danger and you might just be onto something. Alternatively you might hate America for its "cultural decadence" (a very 'daring' take I must say) and maybe you have some personal rivarly of Francis Parker Yockey. A man who would ironically push your colleagues to support this proposal. Whatever the case, the Soviets are only a paper threat apparently, perhaps even an ally (brilliant), and so it is America you should focus on. Better get those ships out of the drydocks.
A Tripolar Cold War - When Mosley talked up Pan-Europa, he oscillated between it being big enough to sit out the coming American-Soviet rivalry or strong enough to forge its own empire and a third dimension to the Cold War. You really took that to heart and now believe that instead of hunkering down and maybe annoying one of the pair, Europe should stick its fingers in the pie (the very, hot pie) and peacock itself as the new titan among the superpowers. Considering your army is in a mess and your country is a shoestring away from implosion, I'm not really sure how you'll accomplish this. I look forward to being right again.

"As much as Wanda rants on about Communism, the greater threat surely is the United States. But we of course should remain wary of the Red Bear."

    Pieces of a Puzzle:

Neutrality - Ah the smart option, as opposed to showing off your big (unloaded) guns, your alternative is simple, maverick and just a bit genius: let's do nothing. That's right, you're going to say to the confused nations of the world: "We have no quarrel with you, move along." Maybe this is what you publicly believe, maybe you do genuinely believe this, either way it'll buy you time to either actually build up an army for war or build up some bunkers for defences. Don't expect anyone to believe you though.
Forced Friendship - You want to be friends with your neighbours, I mean really friendly. A suffocatingly close embrace, because you alone know what's best for your friends. Unfortunately they probably don't see it that way so, like the Aggressive Negotiators, you want to change that but instead of gunboat diplomacy its with shadow warfare and political conspiracies. What will become of your new friends? Friendly "client states" of course because client means friend! And then, perhaps later on, annexation into Europa.

"With the remaining parts of our Europa that isn't under the red thumb, we must ensure their co-operation. In a subtle way."

    Big Trouble in Little Tyrol:
    Abstention -
    Oh you're no fun.
"And this is an issue... how?"
