What's the ideology behind the various French parties, especially those exclusive to TTL?
Centrist Party (CEN) - Social Liberalism, Pro-EU, moderate on economic policy. Sort of like Macronists but a bit more willing to fund social programs, education, etc. Seen by many as the 'natural governing party'.

Conservative Party (CON) - Socially liberal, but generally with a culturally right wing streak (on things like migrants, trans people, etc). Generally pro-EU although oppose further integration and hold vaguely center-right economic positions.

Union for the Democratic Republic (UDR) - A bit more socially conservative than the Conservatives. Much more nationalist, although well short of the OTL Le Pen crowd. Have Gaullist roots and beliefs, with much less of a focus on right wing economics because of this.

Neoliberal Front (NEO) - Generic socially liberal, fiscally conservative party. Probably most similar to Macron in beliefs.

Social Conservatives (SCO) - Basically where much of the religious demographic has congregated. Oppose abortion, don't really care about gay marriage, and have a wide array of economic positions.

Radical Movement (MRG) - Despite the name, pretty much the standard-bearer for the French center-left. Generic left wing social views, while supporting a strong welfare state and the EU/NATO.

Socialist Party (PS) - The same as the Radicals, but more left leaning. That means they support at least some workplace democracy, 60 year old retirement age, partial worker ownership, etc

Social Liberal (SL) - Party dedicated to left wing social causes. Has a detailed platform that is slightly more conservative than the MRG but focus mainly on the former.

Social Democratic Party (PSD) - Hold views similar to the Socialist Party, only extremely pro-EU/NATO rather than softly supporting both and relatively hawkish.

Communist Party (PCF) - Have at this point evolved into a slightly more left wing version of the Socialists.

Ecology (ECO) - Offshoot of the Radicals with a heavy focus on environmental protection. Have attracted some criticism for wanting to move away from nuclear energy despite it providing >70% of the West's power and with fusion probably becoming mainstream within a few decades.

National Rally (RN) - Everyone's favorite fascists, except a bit more left wing and more anti-Russia to compensate for the different attitudes of the French public ITTL.
