I just found out, to my great bemusement, of a plot in 1981 for a dozen neo-Nazis to take over Dominica (with the aid of its former president?!) and establish a white ethnostate where they'd attract tourists with casinos and brothels. (Here and here)

Obviously all involved were idiots and got arrested before setting out. They could never have successfully done it. But what I'm wondering is: what happens if they made it over to Dominica and started shooting people and then got stopped? For one thing America's far-right circles can't be pushed aside and ignored by polite society, they've just committed a massive terrorist attack and tried to be supervillains right out of a comic.

How many Americans even know about Grenada? Or anything else about smaller Caribbean nations really? It would probably make headlines for a week or two and then people here would forget. Obviously for Dominica and the Caribbean itself there would be implications but I'm doubtful there would be a lasting impact on US politics.
