If the Communists had not won the Civil War, how would the various schools of Buddhism, Confucianism and the various Chinese traditional religions (Shenism, ancestoe worship, etc.) developed on the mainland?

IOTL, Taixu’s disciples transferred Humanistic Buddhism to Taiwan.
