I'll start off with the internet alternate history cliche: Political maps!
Made using the excellent Dave's Redistricting site, here's a pair of alternate US House maps. They were made using 2010 Census data and each state has significantly more seats than historically. District partisan ranks (in the 2012-16 data) are as follows:
WI-1 (Green Bay, Appleton): R+4.9
WI-2 (Oshkosh, Sheboygan): R+3.7
WI-3 (Fond du Lac, West Bend): R+13.3
WI-4 (Waukesha, Elkhorn): R+14.4
WI-5 (Milwaukee): D+29.13
WI-6 (Racine, Kenosha): D+0.1
WI-7 (Janesville, La Crosse): D+2.1
WI-8 (Madison, Reedsburg): D+20.2
WI-9 (Wausau, Hayward): R+7.2
WI-10 (Eau Claire, Wisconsin Rapids): R+5.1
MS-1 (Jackson, Vicksburg): D+11.2
MS-2 (Greenville, Meridian): D+7.1
MS-3 (Philadelphia, Laurel): R+19.4
MS-4 (Hattiesburg, Pearl): R+15
MS-5 (Gulfport, Pascagoula): R+23.1
MS-6 (Southaven, Tupelo): R+16.5
Wisconsin was a lot more fun and interesting to draw. Mississippi has two majority-black seats made via a classic megamander in the 2nd district. About half of Wisconsin's districts in this are competitive on paper, none of Mississippi's are.
