As the article points out, one of the factors for the rise of right-wing extremism in Germany was a patriarchal reaction to the post-WW1 emancipation of women, and its perceived threat to traditional gender roles. Nazism strongly emphasized that the right place for women was in the home, serving their husbands and taking care of their (ideally many) children.
