The Write Stuff: The gentle art of killing

I think what this demonstrates is not just the necessity of being willing to kill of characters, and of having that death be meaningful, but also the necessity of making sure that the death makes sense for the character unless the entire point is to be a shift in narrative focus that emphasises some sort of capricious element of nature.
