On Trial. Day 1

This is a kind of announcement, and a kind of interim measure. I'm going on Jury Service as from tomorrow, and I'm getting you lot involved in a rather more direct manner to help fill the hiatus.

I'll be posting a little something on the evening of each day, of which this is the first. Here it is. I expect you all to get involved and discuss things here. This will only be successful if there's a conversation going on. We'll see how it goes.

It's all explained in the first piece.

Given that Portugal is England's (what ever part that may be) oldest ally, it is going to be the Brazilians acting as an intermediary to allow a European Federation brokered peace deal - after all Portugal has the EF Presidency this year

President Edson Arantes do Nascimento of Brazil and Prime Minister Robert Frederick Chelsea Moore of the Independent Free State of London are meeting. Explain the context.

After years in the cold, London is finally on track to become a member-state of FIFA, the Fédération internationale of civilised nations. The outgoing Premier Legate of the Republic of Britain attempted to bring the country into the European Supreme League alliance, causing widespread discontent among the public and this means it can no longer block London's promotion. Nascimento hopes to use his personal charm to smooth the way.

President Edson Arantes do Nascimento is coming over because he has an issue with a considerable amount of striking in his country.
The summit meeting is to get advice and direction from Prime Minister Robert Frederick Chelsea Moore, who has developed a reputation for successfully tackling such strikes, even at the level experienced by President do Nascimento.

“Where’s the summit going to be held?”

“I asked them, and they think it’s Andover.”
