First follow-up questions: What's likeliest to happen in the attempt's aftermath, esp. with regard to anyone labeled/professing to be a socialist or anarchist? What are the likeliest policy moves during a second McKinley term? What does this do for TR's career? Would the eventual Panama Canal area be "acquired" in the same manner/timeframe as OTL, or differently?
