Making easily spoken acronyms is an ancient American art form. How else are we supposed to come up with systems like MAGIC CARPET (Maritime Augmented Guidance with Integrated Controls for Carrier Approach and Recovery Precision Enabling Technologies) but for much practice?
Not just an American past time. I seem to recall @AndyC getting the name "Tardis" approved for something when he was in the RAF.
