How could the Zanzibar Revolution have been avoided or crushed and the Zanzibar Sultanate have survived? The cause for the Zanzibar Revolution was resentment by the Black African majority against the Arab elite. However, by that time, distinctions between the ethnic groups were becoming blurry with Sultan Jamshid ibn Abdullah himself having a mixed family.
If the Zanzibar Sultanate had survived, what would have been the effects? How would Zanzibar have developed?
