José Maria Morelos not captured

What if José Maria Morelos had not been captured and executed by the Spaniards? He was a Mestizo leader of the fight for Mexican independence. He was a good guerrilla leader and, in my opinion, he could have defeated the Spaniards eventually. If so, Mexico would probably have been much more stable than in our timeline. In our timeline, Mexico gained independence through an unnatural coalition
of liberals and conservatives led by Agustín de Iturbide who had switched sides following the Riego Revolution in Spain. This caused a lot of instability in Mexico for the following decades.
