What If All of Europe Was Conquered?

His first two sentences makes it plain he thought maize was from Europe. He listed these as all non-Native foods. "Most of the food eaten today being Native developed? Rice, maize and wheat comprise 80% of food consumption on their own, of which Maize is the most cultivated by itself (though...

What If Catholic Monks Led the First Expeditions to the Americas?

That may be another reason for me to quote the text rather than post a link to it. To make it clearer which orders or groups I was referring to. Namely Jesuits in Paraguay, Dominicans in Chiapas, etc, rather than the monks in places like New Mexico. But even at their worst, there were no monk...

What If All of Europe Was Conquered?

Actually the research failure is yours. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S2352618116300750 https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/nrcs141p2_024206.pdf https://www.csmonitor.com/1988/1125/hfgiv.html And you seriously don't know maize is from Mexico? Next you'll be...

What If Catholic Monks Led the First Expeditions to the Americas?

These are PODs. I've seen others post videos as well. Is the issue the medium being posted? If not, it's not promotion any more than every other thread I've seen with someone writing on a topic that they have written a book or story on, or hope will become one. But I could easily post the text...

What If Catholic Monks Led the First Expeditions to the Americas?

Briefly, there would be no genocides by Spaniards, an empire based on faith instead of greed and theft, and far less disease since invaders spread it deliberately or made it far worse by deliberate starvation. Other European invaders face Spanish priest armed Natives, much like Jesuit reductions...

What If All of Europe Was Conquered?

By the Abassid Caliphate or Mongol Empire. Briefly, this gives the Americas a break for two or three centuries. The new invaders would cause death tolls of 10-50% instead of >90%.

How could Benjamin Franklyn been first u.s. president??

Franklin himself argued against a president as too much power concentrated in one man, wanting the executive to be a small committee.

What If the Mali Empire or a Chinese Empire Colonizes the Americas?

Briefly, conquest but no genocides, except perhaps by the Chinese at the end. The Mali Empire or a Chinese empire brings iron and immunity and recovery time for Natives to later European diseases, giving the later conquerors a much harder fight. There's also no reason a Ming empire in the...

A Left Wing without a Marxist Engine: No Marx?

Just as interesting is seeing how fascism arises differently, if at all. Marx's theories says capitalism will become inherently more unequal and brutalizing in order to maintain it. So maybe fascism arises to go after progressive Christianity or utopian socialists.

What If More Vikings or the Chola Empire Colonize the Americas?

Similar to what I proposed. I suggested an attack on Iceland driving several thousand colonists west. But I argued for a hybrid state developing. Since the Vikings adopted in or kidnapped North Africans, Turks, and many others, then Natives as well.

What If More Vikings or the Chola Empire Colonize the Americas?

Video 3 from What If Natives Won. Briefly, Viking steel makes later European conquest of the Micmaq, Inuit, and Iroquois more difficult, as does them introducing far less disease far earlier, with 3-5 centuries to recover. Chola invasion would do similar for Pacific Northwest and California...

What If Muslim Spain or the Ottoman Empire Colonizes the Americas?

It's not a fact but a theory. Often the impression people have is that Europeans hit the shores and almost all Natives die immediately. What actually happened was: 1. Europeans invade. No Natives die from epidemics immediately. Columbus invades and the first epidemic wasn't until 1512. Vikings...

What If Muslim Spain or the Ottoman Empire Colonizes the Americas?

I think the main difference I see is there'd be a far lower death rate from disease since they did not deliberately spread it, and have ritual hygiene as part of the faith. I still assume Europeans would invade later, but they'd face Natives largely immune by that point.

What If Muslim Spain or the Ottoman Empire Colonizes the Americas?

2nd video from my blog What If Natives Won? Briefly, conquest but not genocides until very late by the Ottomans. Far less disease, no biological warfare, and several centuries for Native populations to bounce back. Later European invaders face Native Muslims with weapons tech far more equal.
