Pretty simple question, really- what kind of POD might result in tea being drunk more than coffee in this the United States? Especially if drinking tea isn't viewed as effete or eccentric.

Yeah, what you need is for tea-drinking to come up from the South somehow. Some extra migrations, or something making the South look Cool in TV/film so everyone wants to drink tea just like Rick Dalton

It would probably help to either reduce the prominence of the Boston Tea Party in American civic religion or avoid it altogether.
