The other two New York "parties"

Another one, not of my creation, called The Seventh Party System by MoralisticCommunist.

I've taken over posting updates for him on AH.com due to his banning.

Check it out. Its a wonderfully creative but utterly bleak look at an alternate America.

Aha! yes! I thought Moderate Moose sounded familiar! I'll go check it out, thanks :)

I really like it although I think the way he (?) portrays swings in political direction are a bit extreme. Like how a right-wing government with as majority can dismantle decades of welfare state in a 4 year legislature.

I think he once said to me that this was not a healthy or stable democracy. Stuff like that seems to be part of how this America tears itself apart.

37: William Weld (Republican majority) 2009-2011

38: Mallory Pelosi (Labor-Progressive-Populist coalition) 2011-201?

The names at the very end are like the ones MC uses, all fictional but with clear connections to OTL people

Walter P. Lowell - basically Lowell P. Weicker only switched around. Establishment yet difficult to work with
Ed Kennedy - Ted Kennedy. Basically that's it. It's like when I called Ed Miliband Ted Miliband, I guess.
Nathan Hostettler - Canon. One of those "use middle name/first name instead" choices. He's incredibly obscure.
Mallory Pelosi - Her maiden name is Mallory Martin. She's basically a fusion of O'Malley and Pelosi.

NON-CANON (unless MC approves) list of Pennsylvania Premiers since the Democratic Coup

Alexander Haig (Democratic) 1976-1979
- Became Premier thanks to the Democratic Coup pushing lots of opportunistic GOP people into Dems.

Warren Scranton (Republican-Labor coalition, then Republican minority) 1979-1983
- 1979 saw the slow falling apart of the Wallace regime and Haig lost enough back to the GOP so Scranton could coup him

Pat Casey (Labor) 1983-1990
- 1982 was one of no possible coalition, Scranton forced through another one hoping to surprise Labor, but Casey being picked as Labor leader led to them surging. His premiership was one that dominated the 1980s and broke the back of the PA GOP

Peg Luksik (Democratic-Constitution coalition) 1990-1992
- Democrats bounced back in Pennsylvania with help of Haigites [Haig himself was recently dead] and a national Democratic Party eager to notch some victories outside the South. Constitution was a splinter Dem party from when the Democrats nationwide collapsed. Luksik after losing power successfully merged the PA Cons into the Dems, hence why there's none here by 2017

Pat Casey (Labor) 1992-2000
- Returning to power after Luksik proved too controversial, he would hold on to power until his death, making his statement in 1985 darkly true "I'll be fighting until you carry me out in a coffin".

L. Dwight Wofford (Labor, then Labor-Greens minority coalition) 2000-2006
- Labor decided to make history, by a slim hair, by electing its first African-American leader L. Dwight Wofford. A very "Caseyite" individual, he kept abortion restrictions strong but expanded welfare support. But pissed off enough soc-libs with his refusal to support a civil unions law in Pennsylvania and together with his die-hard support of coal, the Greens surged.

Joe Clymer (Democratic-Republican-Old Order coalition) 2006-2010
- After a limping Wofford minority propped up by the Greens until the next election which returned a shift to the right, the Democrats signed an agreement with the GOP and the Amish to form a broad right-wing government. But then the Depression hit...

Arlen Sestak (Labor-Greens coalition, then caretaker coalition) 2010-2017
- Decorated military admiral returned home to save his state, the story told it all. Everyone loved Sestak. Until he opened his mouth... Turns out he's a bit of a blabbermouth and was distinctly too liberal for Pennsylvania. Still, people expected him to win 2016. Until he didn't. His minority coalition was one on death row waiting for the day it would be ended.

Pat Santorum (Democratic-Social Credit-Old Order coalition) 2017-
- What can we say about Pat Santorum that hasn't already been said?
