oh yeah this is the good stuff alright

May need to dig out my copy and deliver a Bond-length rebuttal of 500+ pages
 
I remember there was a lot of chatter about either a rising power in Europe or a limited war with China prior to 9/11, as people tried to imagine newer and more interesting wars.

with the Germans providing the military muscle to back French policies across the continent

That is such a weird sentence to read in the now, when "German policies" became what we associate with the EU and they don't spend that much on their army (but France does)
