Good idea for an interview - it's come up before that sports WIs are a good way to branch the hobby out to a wider audience. I also like the critique of the "Yesterday" approach ignoring consequences.

This is especially relevant in pop culture situations, which are extremely volatile and influenced by other pop culture events. Or sports itself for that matter, where "what if the ball moved a few inches to the left" is an easy POD.
Yeah - it should be much more obvious to the average person than 'if war X didn't happen then politician Y wouldn't be re-elected', everyone knows the Beatles influenced bands X, Y and Z so there's really no excuse for stuff like 'Yesterday'.This is especially relevant in pop culture situations, which are extremely volatile and influenced by other pop culture events.
