Hitler Poisoned in Italy, 1934

I was reading Mussolini and Hitler: The Forging of the Fascist Alliance Paperback by Christian Goeschel and it raised an interesting question.

Hitler and Mussolini met for the first time in 1934, in Italy. Hitler did not like the food he was served. The chef was Jewish and, according to Goeschel, might have over-salted the food in revenge for Nazi treatment of the Jews. What if he’d used something more lethal? Everyone at that table, including both Hitler and Mussolini, die in agony, in 1934.

What then?

Chris

Getting rid of Mussolini does allow for the possibility of a fascist Italy with a longer lifespan, assuming that the Second World War or something like it occurs. We cannot assume that, mind, with such a big POD.

Who else was at that table?
