Is there a way to have the site automatically watch threads that we post in or can we only do it manually? A lot of the other sites I use have automatic watching for threads that are posted in.

Ok on examining - in your account Preferences you can choose to follow or not content you create/interact with, which should be that. Preferences are fairly obvious on Computer, Android it's in a hidden button menu that appears if you tap to the left of the Inbox.
