Scenes We'd Like To See: Alternate Movies, Television & Other Pop Culture Miscellanea

As much as the mind recoils, that was pretty close to the original Lee/Kirby pitch, wasn't it? The core appeal of the team was that they were superheroes with a bickering-family setup and defined personalities, a formula that got copied by most notably the X-Men (who added the soap operatic...

The Thirty-Ninth HoS List Challenge Thread

April Fools! I moved the start of the contest to the next day! (This is absolutely 100% the real reason and I did not forget.) The rules are simple; I give a prompt, and you have until 9:00pm on the last day of the month (or whenever I remember to post the announcement on that day) to post a...

Anarcho-Occultist's Way Too Soon Wikibox Thread

There’s a lot going on here, but I think the highlight might throwing Dr Robotnik into the sea of characters-that-are-the-same here. That hedgehog really deserves his ego. “Rule of thumb, Horus: you can’t kill the messiah.”

The Thirty-Eighth HoS List Challenge Thread

Entries are now closed! The poll will soon be constructed out of a steel-concrete mix, spanning a mighty gorge of votes, and doomed to collapse thanks to critical flaws created by the natural breaking-down of this metaphor.

Lists of Heads of Government and Heads of State

Part of me was worried that was going too far, but I didn't have the strength to cut it. Don't worry! While this list's universe is in many ways grimly stuck in an internal 1970s, that also means Britannica Online's editors are paid, so they cleared this one up sharpish. However that does also...

Lists of Heads of Government and Heads of State

Yeah, I only realised midway through what I could be implying and after that the rest of the thing just flowed. I see why this is such a popular TL format now--it's fun to lean into "this source is crap" and give yourself permission to break the rules! Economically healthy and stable...

    Callan's Graphics and Things

Extremely high levels of British Journalist here. This acts as a fun way to introduce a character--we get, by design and in a reasonable way, just enough info to see the murky shapes of everything we don't know.

Lists of Heads of Government and Heads of State

rip bozo Microparty AH like this is always fun to see--there's a lot that looks different with a little tinkering on the margins--and while your last Respect list was fun, this one is probably more realistic.

Finally got around to actually reading Workers Spatula. Insane stuff, very funny when I could work out what it was actually talking about, but the real highlight is figuring out which one of the three or four writers wrote whichever article. Felt a lot like reading a very longrunning groupchat.
