I don't remember bringing it up, I'm only familiar with the first volume, which did seem depressingly plausible.

If the Jour J series is available in German, while as a whole it's hit and miss, there are some nice gems in it. The sixth volume, L'Imagination au Pouvoir?, is a fun ride in an alternate 1970s France in the grip of psychedelic counterculture.
