WI: HMS Phaeton attacks Nagasaki, 1808

A Japan that aggressively starts modernising early would also benefit China and Korea, because they wouldn't have as far to come co quickly- it's not quite the time of EIC steamships yet.

WI: FDR Managed To Expand The Supreme Court?

It seems you're arguing less about the WI and more about politics (in so much as they can be separated ofc).

    Alternate Atomic Africa

As I recall part of Klerk's reasoning for dismantling SA's nukes, beyond moral objections, was the fact that nobody could come up with a good practical reason for them.

WI: FDR Managed To Expand The Supreme Court?

He was actually in the lead *until* France collapsed, which sent shock waves through America.

WI: FDR Managed To Expand The Supreme Court?

WI: HMS Phaeton attacks Nagasaki, 1808

I was going to say, the RN wrecking Nagasaki but then having to focus on Europe and the Atlabtic does give Japan both the motive and the opportunity for advancement half a century early.

The Trial of the Raj: The Impeachment of Warren Hastings

Fantastic work @Indicus. I was reminded of how African civil rights and reform-minded colonial officials in the interwar and post-war period occasionally tried to make the British Empire live up to it's own rhetoric and just constantly failed in the face of at best indifference and at worst...

AH Run-downs, summaries and general gubbins

I was thinking right-wing terrorists, but this is even dumber, thanks!

AH Run-downs, summaries and general gubbins

Very dumb AH short story I'd like to write: armed militants try to blow up the Berlin Wall from the west side in like 1980.

Lists of Heads of Government and Heads of State

American paratrooper general and bete-noir of modern Chinese War movies.

I wrote something quite similar a few years ago @Bolt451 :).

Things that look like alternate history but aren't

I recall RFK made the same joke in his 1966 Ripple of Hope Speech.
