Sounds like something that leveraged the alternate history setting well. This can be very tricky to do.

It is indeed - I didn't know what to expect, but it's an unexpected take on 'Cold War Goes Hot and one that begs for a follow-up to see how US and European society works now that Moscow is an irradiated pit and people are questioning why the WAllies hushed up a lot of stuff that the Third Reich did
