That's a great article but there's something a little heartbreaking about being sold so convincingly on a story that doesn't exist.
 
Interesting that there's a thankful village with a war memorial- I'm aware of 14 that are thankful but don't have one.

And of course there's the Doubly Thankful ones as well.

EDIT: There's got to be a story in Thierville in France not only being the only settlement in France with no casualties during WWI, but also the Franco-Prussian, Algerian, Indochinese Wars and WWII as well.
