don't know much about him though, picked him because he seemed like a vaguely stable soft left pair of hands, also because fuck rhodes boyson
He's a bit of a weirdo, supported David Miliband in 2010, didn't anyone else in 2015 and Long-Bailey in 2020 , became one of those odd long time Soft Lefties who were awkwardly shoved into Corbyn's Shadow cabinet and became one of his odd headbanger types. Gardiner isn't bad, he's just odd (and a bit of an idiot).

Reminds me a lot of Ken, in terms of being a fucking weirdo and sort of an idiot

So, as the disgusting worm/basic bitch on SLP who doesn't know about trains, or military equipment, or the inner workings of Habsburg courts, I of course spend my days in the HOI4 community, feeding on althist's deceased corpse like a vulture. I don't know whether it's quite in the orthodoxy, but I have been working on my own Britain-based submod for the HOI4 mod Red World, which doesn't entirely take itself seriously. I've been looking to show off what I've been working on. Let me know if this can't be necessarily posted in the Graphics channel, I'm very sorry if it can't.

These are if Ken Livingstone (Because of course), in-game, abolishes the monarchy, so instead of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, instead a bunch of party randos can run for the official role of President of Britain.

HOI4 Mod concept i'm putting here for an obvious reason: Agent Lavender Mod set in 1985. Mainly since I love the plot and my fucking vulture-ass brain immediately started running with the concept of what happened afterwards, plus i think you could get some fun gameplay scenarios out of it.

main issue i can find with it is that people in the hoi4 community generally don't read books

idea that @Turquoise Blue gave me:

a kind of British futurama setting with the lead characters being a small trotskyite group hawking newspapers on the street, where the "point of divergence" is that Wilson didn't slow down on the "white heat of technology" stuff

featuring:
- the chinese government insisting that the death cult in control of their country is still socialism with chinese characteristics, and a desperate communist character insisting that it's true
- an alexa-style ai powered personal assistant who got really depressed and is now looking for some kind of release with the group of trotskyites
- britain's main religion is worship of the god-monarch who lords over the United Kingdom, but half the country is atheist and doesn't believe in the god-monarch despite the unity of church and state

“It is easy to speak ill of the dead because they cannot sue for defamation, so it is important to stress that the allegations against Gerry Healy, that he was a serial rapist and abuser of vulnerable young women, a violent drunken oaf, a celebrity-obsessed sycophant, a sectarian demagogue, a vindictive bully, a political joke, a blatant anti-semite, a traitor to the world socialist revolution, a possible accessory to torture and murder, a professional liar and a fraud as well as a pathetic stooge for sinister Middle Eastern regimes, were made when he was still alive and had access to enough money, but insignificant inclination, to go to a good libel lawyer.” From the Ken book.

Has anyone done anything with Gerry Healy? Sure, he was an Irish trotskyite who lived in Britain, but I can't think of a better candidate for "Anglo Communist Dictator".

Says a lot about Ken that "he sold out the party" is placed between "anti-Semite" and "accessory to murder".

it's a quote from the author, and it says in the book that it was specifically citing allegations from healy in the WRP.

Ken went to his funeral.

They were close friends.

He said that Healy's downfall (which was caused by Healy being a rapist) was actually because of MI5.

i don't like ken livingstone

SPEAKING OF TROTS THAT HAD A SUSPICIOUSLY CLOSE RELATIONSHIP WITH KEN LIVINGSTONE

this is insanity

I believe in one of the early SLP books, there was a short story called "Ed Dawn" about if Militant took over the Labour Party. It was actually pretty fun, but I think you can get a really interesting (and slightly terrifying) tl out of Trots managing to kerensky Benn
