Bellamy/Nationalist Clubs last longer?

Georgism is more a reform movement than something that would fit in communes with a more radical model. But maybe it's something that would fit the state governments where this odd coalition ends up in power?

Maybe collectively managed land avoids the dust bowl down the line.
I could see that, Georgism was popular as a model for Communes/Colonies though since a number were created as enterily Georgism settlements. If the Georgists and Socialists work together more though and influence governments then that would help.

Also the land would probably be better anyway because a number of Nationalists were also interested in nature or naturalists and all that jazz.
Colorado would be a good target, it's rural and mines at the time, I think? Rural socialist communes sheltering radical miners would work.
Yeah, would be interesting how this would effect the Colorado Coal Wars. I doubt National Guard would want to be burning down actual settled Communes.
I think the north plains would also be a great place with the large amount of European immigration. I could easily see the movement having a strong German wing and being welcoming to immigrants keeping their language and culture alive. Either without WW1 or with a break over it, German Americans are likely to stay more distinct.
Indeed, I can see a Strong German, Yiddish and Immigrant contingent who keep there culture alive through Communes and that allows them to also have a base to publish newspapers and books in there native languages.

Yeah they probably avoid the monoculture trap and maintain the land better. An earlier interest in alternative agriculture would be a good basis to avoid those issues. I wonder if we'd also see cooperation with native groups? There's quite a few of those in the northern plains.

Depends who's in charge and if they manage to have an impact on the national guard's composition. Maybe something we could see would be an initial bloodbath where strike breaking spills into burning a commune or two and maybe a settlement of non socialists, but the backlash would lead to a broad pro labour coalition sweeping into power in the state and purging the more pro capitalist national guard elements while integrating workers and commune militias into it?

Another place we can look into is Arizona. Before it became a modern retirement home, it was pretty lefty I think. Maybe also cooperation with the native reservations in the area?

If the left leaning coalition can maintain a grip on parts of the west rich in resources, they could probably funnel that into developing their own seeds of industry, which in turn will build a local proletariat beyond extractive activities and give them some independence.

One thing that could be interesting to explore is a state government deciding to embrace bilinguialism. Probably German, that's the most likely to be large enough to justify it. I don't think there's anything constitutional to oppose it. Though maybe a large court case of, say, Wisconsin having to defend that policy could make for an interesting rallying point too. A loss would piss off German-Americans more and solidify them as part of the coalition everywhere, but a win could also be a sign of their ascendance?
