Alternate World War

The Germans might be able to conclude a peace with the Russians sometime in 1917, with territory changing hands in Poland and Lithuania - nowhere near as harsh as Brest-Litvosk but it would close off the Eastern front - there was also constant feelers put out for peace throughout the war.

Do you think that, if concluded early in 1917, it could be a war-changer? And what effect do you think such a peace would have on Russia itself?

Speaking for Italy, well Giolitti can decide at the last moment to not leave the goverment in 1914 due to a confidence crisis started by the socialist and giving the job to form another to one of his protegè (Salandra) with the tacit agreement that he will have taken back the role after a while.
Salandra war very prowar, while Giolitti (even with the understanding that Austrian promise was BS) was for neutrality (he thought that in the end we have earned some compensation at colonial level like Tunisia)
