    Developments at Amazon UK

Top 100 listings (bestsellers and new releases) now show Audible books as separate listings: this seems to have pushed some "Sharpe" titles out of the top 100 in the bestsellers category. There is also a new 'pop-up': "Most Wished For"

The Complete Tales of Sergeant Frosty

Congratulations to David Flin for making this available on Amazon. From the extracts I've seen it is beautifully written, very witty and probably far too good for children! Well done David!

Does anyone use Ashampoo Textmaker ? If so, how do you get it to display a real time word count on a document?

    The Celtic Trilogy

I have now started work on this. The setting is the British Isles between 1914 and 1920, with a special concentration on the Celtic nations of Great Britain.

    The Longest Road

It is June of 1927; Queen Victoria has been acclaimed Empress of India, American troops still occupy most of Siberia and a Russian invasion fleet gathers off the coast of Yorkshire. "The Longest Road" is still being travelled in this, the final volume of The House of Stuart Sequence, which now...

    'White Russians'

Can anyone help: how did the term "white" arise as a label for Russian Conservatives? My researches thus far indicate it has nothing to do with racial matters....

    The Year of The Prince

Over two years since publication and I'm delighted to see YOTP back into the top 100 of Kindle's AH books!

    The World Turned Upside Down

Delighted to say that volume six of "The House of Stuart Sequence" has been published today. It takes a restored Stuart monarchy through the difficult years from 1870 to 1895.....

    Quatermass

Just watching the 1970's Thames series which starred Sir John Mills. Set in highly dystopian 1980's UK and I'm highly amused by a piece of wall graffiti on the outdoors set which is incredibly English: "KILL HM THE KING" - how polite can you get?

    "When the Hurly-Burly's Done"

"When the Hurly-Burly's Done" is volume eight of my "House of Stuart Sequence". It takes the story of a restored Stuart monarchy from the assassination of Tsar Nicholas in 1913 to the final battle for Denmark in 1920. I am delighted to say that it has been sent to SLP today.

    Alternative by definition?

Interesting (but amusing) that Amazon are listing the "Sharpe" novels as "Alternative History". There ought to be some way we can take advantage of this - but I'm damned if I can see it! Craftier/more intelligent heads to the rescue please...

    Help needed

Please, can anyone (on a pro bono basis) turn my tatty and hand-written "House of Stuart Sequence" imagined Stuart family tree into a usable format for inclusion in volume eight of the sequence?

    The House of Stuart Sequence

I thought it might be useful to bring newcomers up-to-date. The aim of the sequence is to relate an imagined history following a successful Jacobite Uprising in 1745. Volumes one to five are currently available as Kindle books. Volumes six and seven are with SLP for future publication. Volume...
