2019 Britain ISOT to November 1944?

David, I believe in the "thousands of lives in order to save millions" which is why i don't support criticism of the Allies for bombing civilians. More people died in the firebombings than the Atom Bombs but there's a stronger emotional link to nuclear bombs.

2019 Britain ISOT to November 1944?

If we'd listened to the pacifists we wouldn't have fought Hitler, because in the days before smartbombs, Allied attacks killed a lot of civilians.

Shirley Temple ran for Congress... in 1967... as a Reaganite... in a Liberal Republican district... at the height of the anti-Vietnam War movement... on a pro-war platform. Needless to say, The Good Ship Lollipop was torpedoed. Some Democratic Party high-ups tried to persuade Andy Griffith...

What would be the effects of Italy - and importantly, its colonial (Libya, Somalia, Dodecanese) and conquered (Albania) empire, being ISOT'd from say July 1939 to the present? Trump reacting to the actual Benny the Moose would melt Twitter.

    (1975) Senator John Grey Gorton

POD: John Gorton has an attack of sense, realises that in a double dissolution election with the lower quota, it is much smarter to run for a Senate seat in one of the states, rather than in the hopeless Australian Capital Territory. He probably would would have won a Senate spot had he done...

    Least favorite alt-history story?

I remember my Dad wondering what would have happened if the Tunguska meteorite had landed on Moscow or St Petersburg. a good chunk of history from 1908 onwards would be rewritten, especially as there's a good chance Communism wouldn't have come to power.

Nazi Germany if Hitler had stayed *relatively* rational?

As we all know, the Austrian Corporal was a bit more in touch with reality in 1933-34 than in 1944-45. *handwave* What if he had somehow stayed that way? Effects?

    Least favorite alt-history story?

You are all right to point out that if the Challenger had not been destroyed, the problems at NASA that caused the disaster would not have been corrected and a more serious accident could have happened during a later launch. Such as if a shuttle launch had gone off course and crashed in the...
